  1. Mud, mud, fabulous glorious mud,
Nothing better to enjoy with your bud.
Rub it on my nose and on my chin,
Thick dollops or smeared on thin.
Grind wet mud into my long mane,
Oh I do love the bright orange stain.
Trot through the mud to create a bog,
For rotivation dance about and jog.
Roll in the softest wettest spot,
Use your tail to flick and splot.
Us horses sure do love the dirt,
So like to share it on your shirt.
    My humans make me smile,
As they clearly think mud is vile.
They slip and nearly loose a welly,
And say it makes their clothes smelly.
They never mind my mud pleasures,
Their love for me is beyond measures.
They sometimes brush away the grime,
To check underneath is good and fine.

  2. I cannot be ridden because of my health issues,
I am well looked after, don't cry and no need for tissues.
Cry for the non ridden equines that are dumped to die,
Too many are born unwanted with no home it's no lie.
Some are so poorly, skinny, wormy and have lice,
Their bodies show the bad and ugly humanity price.
They stand in deep mud, nothing to eat and cold,
Not knowing the kindness of love I am told.
Then there are the old, broken and lame,
Then the born wild and not easy to tame.
Humans discard the ones that cannot jump or run,
Move on the problem to replace with another for fun.
Quick fixes, throw away attitude they don't see our soul,
Some equines have to work to earn their feed bowl.
Once no longer of worth moved on with truth hidden,
Only for the new owner to discover we shouldn't be ridden.
Who steps up to pick up the responsibility and dreams broken,
Who will be our voice and be shot down when outspoken.
Thousands have joined our group with stories to share,
Their equines are lucky, but the wider world is so unfair.
More must be done so the mainstream see non ridden gifts,
So the non ridden worthless or wasted horse label shifts.

  3. What does any horse see? Guess it depends on the human guardian or lack of one? Some folk love their horse for what it can do or give. Some love their horse unconditionally.

Something to ponder.....are we worthy? Do we step up for our horse? Do we provide for mind, body and soul? When I look into Kez's eyes I see a soul, that is sensitive, with a vast range of emotions. He has a character and personality. How humbling when we consider how hard horses try to cross the species divide. They communicate out to us and inter-species dialogue is there for those who listen to understand.

If you haven't connected soul to soul it's waiting for you. When you experience it it's inspirational and powerful and there is no going back. These bonds are real. These bonds between souls are eternal.

  4. Today snowflakes settled to a world of white,
Making everything magical, sparkly and bright.
My nose can snuffle through the snow to graze,
A roll makes snow angels that truly amaze.
I am cleaner after a good roll in the snow,
Once the snow melts clean will soon go.
Snow is fun if you have plenty to eat,
And big piles of sweet hay can't be beat.
My dry shelter gives me a place to rest,
A soft dry bed to snooze on is the best.
Fresh clean water with no layer of ice,
It is more than wonderful and really nice.
Hooves make ice blocks all over the place,
You can see where Beau and I had a race.
Equines who have everything snow can be fun,
An opportunity to prance, dance and run.
No loving guardian it's a different story to tell,
Snow for the neglected doesn't end well.
Winter's cruel grip too many suffer that's true,
Please support a welfare for the work they do.
