Sail Away. Original Sculpture.

Sail Away is a unique statement sculpture by Vicki Jayne Yates BA Hons

Mixed media using driftwood, leather for the sail, honeysuckle for the mast, 2 moonstone crystals and tiny pearl type beads.  

Sail Away for those on a voyage, those moving forward, looking for freedom and adventure. A sculpture to remind us to explore the new we must leave behind our comfort zone. Every journey is unique, with challenges and rewards. The sea has a natural energy, for many it is restorative and irresistible. Sailing away is about tapping into nature's power, the wind in the sail and the power of the waves. On the sea it allows us to disconnect to the modern fast paced world. To enjoy nature's wonders, the vast sea, sky with sunsets, sunrises and the stars. The dolphins who visit to play by the boat. Sailing away is about transformative journey. 

Driftwood for the connection to land and the tree from where it came and to connect to the sea that has sanded and worn each piece into a beautiful shape and texture. 

Moonstone soft stones to bring happiness and good fortune. It is a stone for inner growth and strength. It is a stone that good for balancing inner feelings, happiness, love, & spiritual wellbeing. It soothes emotional instability and stress, and stabilises the emotions, providing calmness. This stone can help with the stages of grief.  A stone of new beginnings.  Moonstone enhances intuition, promotes inspiration and success.

Honeysuckle is connected to joy, harmony and happiness. Uplifting to the spirit, bringing inner peace and emotional wellbeing. Good for deepening connections, strengthening bonds and for love. For compassion and self-compassion, nurture and self-nurture. It can inspire us to embrace change and transformation, assisting us in understanding ourselves. A protective energy useful in warding off negative influences. Honeysuckle is also connected to abundance.
